How we choose Roofing Shingles 

Asphalt roofing shingles  still remain the most popular shingles of choice  in New Jersey and Eastern PA. There are many roofing shingle brands on the market today, like Certainteed, Tamko, IKO, Owens Corning,GAF Timberline. Over the many years we installed and tested  most of them. Each brand has its own strengths and weaknesses. When we stop by at the houses where we installed asphalt roofing shingles 5-15 years ago, first of all we check how the shingles performed over the years after the installation.

       We look at the durability of the roofing shingles, we check if any granule loss happened or any cracks appear on the face of the roofing shingle. We check the adhesion of the roofing shingles at the eves and at the ridge of the roof, thats the places where there is a high chance of the shingles blow offs, we check the North side of the roof as well to see how well the roofing shingles got sealed on the side where the sun doesn't hit. When there is no substantial  granule loss or any cracks, shingles are sealed nice and tight, it means that the deck of the roof  is gonna be dry and safe for many years to come.  

    After many years of trials and errors we have reached a conclusion that the least call backs we have on Timberline High Definition and Owens Corning TruDefinition roofing shingles. So thats why  we made these roofing shingles as our shingles of choice.
